NEOnet Announces Ownership Consolidation for ProgressBook Suite

CUYAHOGA FALLS, OH – (Sept. 20, 2017) – Northeast Ohio Network for Educational Technology (NEOnet) has recently announced that the Management Council of the Ohio Education Computer Network and Software Answers, Inc. will be consolidating the ProgressBook Suite under the ownership of Software Answers.

“It’s our goal as an information technology center (ITC) support and service provider to ensure our member school districts are aware of changes that will affect them,” said Matthew Gdovin, NEOnet’s executive director and Board Chair of the Management Council. “It’s important that our districts are aware this change will have no effect on the quality of support and service they currently receive.”

The ProgressBook Suite includes a learning management system, a parent access portal, a data analytics engine, a vendor interactivity module and special services. Software Answers will acquire the intellectual property and software from the Management Council and the consolidation will go into effect July 2018.

The current development team will continue to ensure the suite is a valuable tool for districts across the state, and all district and ITC advisory groups will continue to provide support and guidance to Software Answers.

In the announcement about the consolidation from the Management Council, Paul Chaffee, CEO of Software Answers, stated, “It will enable us to focus the development of the suite in a highly responsive way that will benefit the schools.”

The announcement also included a quote from Jeff Davis, Management Council’s Director of Student Information, stating, “With the consolidation of ownership of the ProgressBook Suite, the Student Information State Support Team will provide support that is as robust as ever.”

“NEOnet remains committed to its purpose to improve student education through the use of technology,” said Gdovin. “As such, we will always advise districts on the best service and direction to take to allow them to continue to provide students with the support they deserve. This change in ownership will allow just that.”
